Players for Good started with a German non-profit founder and his basketball friends: what if a stake on a game became a real donation? The client built the app on an existing FlutterFlow design system. Xmethod supported with product consulting and selected features, including parts of the payment logic.

The project at a glance
Challenge
Turn basketball games into donations without it feeling like gambling, and show every user exactly where the money goes.
Solution
A FlutterFlow app built by the client on its own design system. Xmethod consulted and implemented selected features, including parts of the donation-split logic.
Result
Players for Good is live. Every stake shows its split before payment, and the money always reaches a non-profit the user picked, win or lose.
3
steps per game: game, organisation, payment
3
shares in every stake: charity, product, sponsorship
5
tabs: Home, Good News, Play, Good Games, Energy

The client
A non-profit with a love for basketball
Players for Good comes from a German non-profit (gGmbH) focused on collecting charitable donations. The founder and his friends are avid basketball players, and the product grew straight out of that: combine the game they love with a way to raise money for causes they care about.
The idea
It looks like a bet, but it isn't one
Users place a stake on a basketball game or its outcome: their own game or one they watch, alone or with friends backing different players or teams. A correct prediction earns points and status in the app. Whatever the result, the money goes to a non-profit the user chose beforehand. The platform keeps a small share for the product and sponsorship.
Not gambling
Money never stays with the platform as a bet. It always ends up with a charity.
Full transparency
Before paying, users must see exactly how their stake is split. No hidden fees.
A reason to come back
Points, leagues and profiles have to make giving feel like part of the game.
Mobile app
Inside the app
The design is the client's own: bold red, basketball imagery and a bottom bar with a central Play button.
From game to donation in three steps
The home screen welcomes the “Player for Good” and offers Play and Invite. A game runs through three steps: enter your stats (for example €1 per own point), pick an organisation from its profile, then pay. The running Game Energy total stays visible at every step.

A stake with a transparent split
Users decide what they give for, a team point or a win, and set the amount from €0.10. A slider adjusts the voluntary contribution to the platform. The summary shows the split: in the app's example, €4 of a €19.80 stake go to the product, €1.20 to sponsorship, the rest to the charity.

Good Games: leagues in Duolingo style
“My Games” shows personal stats and ranks. Games can be sorted as most valuable, most generous, most social or latest, by season or month. The championship view turns accumulated Good Power into a league with a podium and a Most Valuable Player ranking.

Good Energy: the impact wallet
Good Energy is the app's internal points and status currency. The wallet shows the total with weekly and monthly ranks, splits it into community and personal energy and lists recent impact per game and organisation. New users see a friendly empty state instead of zeros alone.

Profile, settings and favorites
The personal area bundles profile editing, favorites, sponsors and the Good Circle. Users upload a photo, change login and names, and keep a searchable list of favorite organisations and players, filtered by type.

Player profiles and posts
Every player has a public profile with Good Power, games and supporters, plus tabs for info, posts and settings. After a game, a post shows how much energy a player generated for which organisation, so others can see the impact and add the player to their favorites.

Our role
Focused help on an existing build
The design was already in place, built on an existing FlutterFlow design system, and design work wasn't part of our scope. Xmethod supported the client's team with product consulting and helped implement selected features on top of that build, including parts of the payment and donation-split logic.
There were no complex AI features or custom architecture. It was a straightforward FlutterFlow app, and our contribution was modest: helping the client's own team move features from idea to working screens.
